A note from Kim
I've been an international make-up artist for over 25 years; my career has been varied - and I've worked with top international magazines including British, American and French Vogue, celebrities and renowned singers - and also developed teaching & training make-up application videos for major brands. What brought me most satisfaction was working with women of all ages, teaching them how to apply their make-up - and making the most of themselves in a simple, quick and natural style.
My understanding as a make-up artist and working mother means that I'm well aware of the benefits of gaining confidence, by caring for yourself and looking and feeling the best you can.
When I was 23 I visited an iridologist – who gave me an in-depth health diagnosis by reading my iris structure. This was my first venture into the world of alternative health but certainly not my last – I was hooked! Acupuncture, Osteopathy, Massage, I've tried them all and found that a treatment combination of alternative and traditional (when needed) have worked well for me, and my family over the last 25 years…
I truly believe that what I put into my body too is essential to my health, mind and spirit and I've have chosen to be a vegetarian for 35 years. In recent years, I've also embraced Veganism (encouraged by my teenage daughter I might add!) and I've felt my energy levels soar and my mind capacity rise. We women have always multi-tasked but I’m on a whole new level now!
I became a make-up artist 30 years ago, graduating from The London College of Fashion.
I was lucky enough to be introduced to Lucinda Chambers, then Fashion Director of Elle and later Vogue for over 20 years. Her talent and vision helped inspire me to drive my career forward and I worked for magazines across the globe, with celebrities, singers and on numerous advertising campaigns. To date I still work as an international make-up artist for magazines and major high street brands. I love it still!
I've also been brought on board by multi-national beauty companies to advise them on industry trends for future product devolvement and training for their staff and heads of department; on both what is going on the in the big wide world and also how to work with the product ranges they have.
With my product development knowledge I was asked by Louise Redknapp to co-create a Make-up range which we named “Wild About Beauty”. Again, the philosophy of the range is very much natural, ethical, paraben-free, multi-tasking and easy to use quality cosmetics.
At heart, I love to share my knowledge with everyone who will listen and it seems only natural for me to help as many women as I can; to help re-invent, regain confidence, or just learn from a professional how make-up can be an essential soul boosting part of your life, especially as we get older.
